We did the kids' birthday party on the Saturday after their birthday. I'm so glad we planned that - it gave Lissa time to get over her RSV before the party. (What is it with my kids getting RSV around their birthday??) Lissa and Joshua were soooo excited for their birthday party. We arrived at Grandma and Grandpa's house early. Joshua walked right up to the table, sat down, and asked for his cake. The poor kid had to wait a little while for that. He and Lissa had watched me make the cakes all morning and he was just chomping at the bit to eat that cake. Once the cousins and friends arrived, the party started. Lissa and Joshua had lots of fun opening presents (who doesn't?) and enjoyed their cakes. The most interesting part for me was watching them actually
play with their cousins. We meet once a month, so they see their cousins often, but in the past that have either played next to their cousins, or followed the older ones around, not actually playing with them. This time, they actually interacted and played with the cousins. It's almost like they said to each other, "We're three now. It's time to start playing with our cousins." Funny kids.

Singing Happy Birthday

Joshua
loves to sing Happy Birthday. He really got into it when it was time to sing to Lissa. Lissa, on the other hand, was a little nervous about the candles. Neither kid blew out their candles because they didn't like the fire :)
Cute cakes, Emily! THanks for the link to your blog:)
