Opus 439 - It's Not Easy Being a Twin

...Especially when your brother pushes you down and you end up with this:

The break happened on Saturday. We thought it was just sore or maybe sprained. But when she fell down the stairs on Monday and really started to complain about a pain in the exact same location, I decided to take her to the doctor. It's a tiny little fracture near the wrist. The InstaCare doctor put on the splint and sling. It was much more of nuisance than the cast:

This cast is great. It's cute (you would never guess that Lissa picked the colors - ha ha) and it's waterproof! I had no idea a waterproof cast existed. Is that not the coolest thing? The doctor will take it off in three weeks. If all goes well, she'll just have a wear a brace for a few weeks after that. Yay!

Opus 438 - Water Table

You may remember the water table that my brother and sister-in-law had at the family reunion last year. As soon as I got the instructions, I made one for the kids. They love it!

Opus 437 - More Park Fun

Once again, here are some park pictures. I suppose it's obvious that this is one of the kids' favorite places.

Lately, they like to act like they are on a spaceship going to Mars (they got this from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse). Lissa sits down, Joshua buckles her in, then he goes to the controls and they count down: 10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2! 1! Blast off! They then tell me that they are on Mars and tell me all about who is there with them (usually Mickey characters).

Opus 434 - Easter

As is usual, we had our Easter Egg hunt on the Saturday before Easter. It was wet and rainy outside, so we held it indoors again. That was no problem for our little hunters.

We gave the kids paints for Easter. They have so much fun painting!

We also gave them letter and number magnets. Another favorite in the house. They love spelling their names.

Opus 432 - Fire Trucks

Recently we stopped by one of those car seat safety checks. They had a fire truck and ambulance there. Lissa and Joshua had a good time checking them out. The best part was that the fireman talked to the kids about how important it is to wear their helmets when they ride their bikes. Up until that point Lissa didn't like to wear her helmet. She has worn it every time since! Thanks fireman!

Opus 431- Royal Wedding

We watched a little bit of the Royal Wedding. The kids were excited about the whole girl-becomes-princess thing. When they saw a clip of the Prince and Princess dancing they decided to dance too. Lissa exclaimed, "I'm a Princess!" Joshua said, "I'm a Prince! Let's kiss!"

Opus 430 - Umbrellas

Lissa and Joshua are now the proud owners of umbrellas. They were so excited when it rained and they could use their umbrellas!

It snowed on the first official day of Spring Break, but that didn't stop us from going out!

Opus 427 - More Spring Break

Jason was studying for finals during Spring Break, so one morning I decided to give him some quiet time. I took the kids and went to IHOP for breakfast, followed by a round of mini-golf at Trafalga.*

Lissa and Joshua had great fun sorting the sugar packets.

They're big-time cheaters when they play mini-golf. They usually hit the ball once, pick it up, put it right next to hole and hit it in. It doesn't matter - they're having fun :)

*We purchased the Utah County pass of all passes this year. It includes unlimited fun at Trafalga and Seven Peaks, plus free tickets to all Owlz (minor league baseball) and Flash (D league basketball) games.

Opus 426 - Planetarium

As you can tell, we did a lot during Spring Break. I love doing as much as possible with the kids during that time. We decided to drive up the Planetarium one day. We drove up to the park and ride and rode Trax in. Naturally, Joshua loved riding on "Thomas."

Okay, this isn't from the Planetarium. The kids were being silly before we left (trying to walk with their bears between their knees) so I snapped this picture.

Opus 425 - Cookie Time

For another Spring Break activity, we made sugar cookies for Easter. This was the first time I actually let the kids frost the cookies themselves. They thought it was the best thing ever!
