Lissa got her ears pierced at the end of July. She LOVES them. Taking care of the earrings have been very simple. She loves to pick out earrings to match her outfit each day.

How cute. I am thinking about letting the girls get their ears pierced but am not sure when it the right age. Should they be old enough to decide or is letting it get done when they are babies too young?
ReplyDeleteI debated about that one too. My sisters and I had to wait until we were ten. I knew I wanted to let Lissa have her ears pierced sooner, but I wasn't sure when. I have a friend who does it when her kids are babies and loves it. My sister-in-law has four girls and does it when they are three. She said they learn to take care of everything themselves pretty quickly. We plan on having Lissa start doing everything within the next few months. We had them pierce both ears at the same time since we knew she wouldn't allow them to do it a second time. She cried for a brief moment, looked in the mirror, and immediately stopped crying :) For about two months, she would stop at every mirror and look at her earrings. I think we picked a good age for her :) She was old enough to understand what we were doing, but young enough to not know that it would hurt (we didn't tell her - we let her be surprised).
