I'm a week late on this one...
Lissa and Joshua are now two! It's so crazy to think that we've got two 2 year olds running around the house. They are growing up so much and becoming more and more independent. Here are a few things about the now 2 year old kids:
Lissa
Lissa favorite "toys" are books and puzzles. She loves to go through every single puzzle we own and put them together. It's not uncommon to find Lissa sitting on the couch "reading" away. She also enjoys playing with cars with her brother. She LOVES to go outside and "ride" her bike to the park. She is adventurous and mischievous, however she is quite shy outside of her comfort zone. She has the best smile that gives away what she's thinking - it can change from genuine joy, to mischievous, to just plan cute within seconds. Lissa now knows almost all of her letters (thanks to one of her favorite puzzles) and is doing quite well when identifying letters, colors, and shapes. She loves to learn all about everything around her. Her vocabulary is ever expanding. Although, anyone outside of the family wouldn't really know since she's so shy :) Jason subbed in nursery one day and one of the other teachers went home to his wife and said, "Lissa talks!" Silly little girl!
Lissa is now 35 inches tall (80th percentile) and weighs in at 26 pounds (45th percentile). Staying true to form - she's tall and skinny. According to a height predictor tool I found online, when Lissa is 18, she will be 5'7". We'll have to see if that comes true.
Lissa is a wonderful little girl and a joy to be with. I love, love, love my baby Lissa!
Joshua
As you already know, Joshua LOVES cars. He always heads straight for his cars as soon as breakfast is done. He finds many ways to keep himself entertained with those cars. Joshua loves to "ride" his bike to the park - no matter the weather. Despite his love of cars, you can also find Joshua reading books and doing puzzles with his sister. Joshua is always taking care of his sister (or "Sis," as he calls her). If she needs something, he will find it for her. If she's not going where she is supposed to go, he'll put his hand on her back and lead her in the right direction. It's so cute. Joshua is VERY energetic. I know I've mentioned this before, but he really reminds me of my brother, John, when he was little. Joshua is very social. He has no inhibitions around other people. While Lissa plays quietly by herself in nursery, Joshua is running around talking to and playing with everyone. His vocabulary is getting bigger every day.
Joshua is now exactly 3 feet tall (90th percentile) and weighs 30 pounds (75th percentile). He's growing like a weed! He started wearing 2T clothes in November, but has already outgrown all of those! The height predictor said Joshua will be 6'2" when he's 18.
Joshua is such a lovable and fun little boy! I love my little buddy so very much!
