Opus 40 - Seattle, Part 2

Friday was a much better day than Thursday. We let the babies take their usual morning nap while I went to the store to buy diapers and a few other necessities. After their nap, we drove to Snoqualmie Falls. It was just beautiful! The babies were happy the whole time we were there, so we were able to enjoy looking at the falls and just wondering around the property.

We then drove to Jason's home town of Puyallup and went to the famous Puyallup Fair (6th largest in the country!). We had a great time walking around the fair grounds and checking everything out. We were able to see baby pigs (we took a picture just for you, Aunt Lissa!), beautiful horses, cute kitties, and lots of arts and crafts. We even found some elephant ears!!! I just had to have one, even though I shouldn't have, and it was soooo good! For those of you not familiar with elephant ears, don't worry, they aren't real elephant ears. They're kind of like scones, but much lighter, with butter, sugar, and cinnamon on them. My mouth is watering just writing about them!

We tried to drive around Puyallup after the fair, but the babies wouldn't have it. Once again, poor little Lissa lost it. We drove to Jason's old scout master's house (the Wardles), hoping we could stop there to feed the babies. Fortunately, we arrived just as Tess was leaving. She was very sweet and let us go in to her house and feed the babies, even though no one was home.

After feeding the babies, they were still upset and crying. We said a prayer that they'd be able to calm down and loaded them into the car. Our prayer was answered - they fell asleep after about 5 minutes of screaming. We were able to drive back to our hotel in peace :)

We put the babies down and enjoyed a relaxing evening.

This is a good time to tell you how great our hotel was. We decided it would be worth it to spend a little extra money and get a one bedroom suite. Oh man, was it worth it! The babies slept in the living room, with us in the bedroom. It was so nice to be able to watch TV, talk, and relax while the babies were peacefully sleeping. They slept 12-13 hours each night, giving us lots of down time. So wonderful! It was also nice to have a kitchen, especially the dishwasher - we were able to wash bottles every day so easily!
