Opus 29 - We're Big Kids Now

Today was "We're Big Kids" day for Lissa and Joshua. The first "Big Kid" thing they did was eat rice cereal for the first time. I didn't really expect them to do very well their first try, but I was pleasantly surprised. Both seemed to enjoy the taste of the cereal and did a pretty good job of getting it down. Joshua didn't nap well today - he had a hard time keeping his head up and after eating about 1/4 of his cereal he decided he was exhausted (shocker), so I had to stop feeding him and put him down for an evening nap. Lissa, who napped beautifully today, LOVED her cereal. She chomped all of it down, constantly opening her mouth for more. I'm so proud of my little kids!

The second "Big Kid" thing the babies did today was take a bath in big bathtub for the first time. It was a challenge since they don't sit up independently yet, but are too big for their infant tub. However, we all survived and the babies are beautifully clean :) I don't have any pictures of this adventure, but I'm sure you can understand why - there is no way I could have taken a picture while holding on to their squirmy bodies!

Enjoy the pictures of them eating cereal for the first time!

  1. It's always fun for kids to hit those "big" moments. Pretty soon they'll be feeding themselves and splashing around in the tub on their own. They grow up so fast.

  2. Yea for their "first" solid experience! Oh so fun! Sooner than later they'll be enjoying a colorful array of foods! (Invest in a lot of Spray-n-Wash or strip them down when they eat, because it ends up being quite an event each time they eat!!!)

Safety 1st has a great bath seat that we used with our kids as infants. It suctioned to the bath tub and then swiveled around so they could still 'move' around with out slipping and sliding everywhere. We got ours at Babies R Us! Good luck! We LOVE bathtime!
